Freethinkers are people who base their beliefs on evidence, as opposed to authority, superstition, tradition, faith, revelation, or whatever. In short, they are rational empiricists. Traditionally, freethinkers are both atheist and anarchist. “No Gods, No Masters!”

Jacob, what do you think of opening this forum up to freethinkers? The good news: logically they are potential anarchists. The bad news: most of them are utilitarian statists, or as they like to put it, “secular humanists.”

One possible advantage to inviting freethinkers is that it may help us get critical mass for this forum. There used to be an active Fayetteville Freethinkers forum, but it is now dead, so there may be demand for it. Perhaps you could make a separate subforum, “Freethinker Flat” or something. What do you think?

“Anarchy … is the only logical outcome of freethought – the ripened fruit of which freethinking is the potent seed.” – Voltairine de Cleyre
